Name: Mori Ougai (or Ougai Mori if you want given name first) Door: Using TDM as Door Pass for Dominant. Canon: Bungo Stray Dogs Canon Point: Post-season 2. Age: 40 Appearance: Here is what he wears when he’s out in public, here is what he wears when within the Port Mafia. History: Around 15 years pre-canon Mori ran an underground clinic that acted as a neutral ground for a variety of criminal organizations to utilize without fear of being outted to the police. Of course it’s hard to act completely noble in a city full of crime like Yokohama, and some were aware that what Mori actually did behind the scenes was act as an information broker using knowledge he gained from his wide variety of clients. It was through his work there that he first met Yukichi Fukuzawa, who at the time was sent to work as a bodyguard and establish a connection with the doctor. Unbeknownst to one another they were each training and working under the direction of the mysterious Natsume Souseki. It was mostly thanks to Natsume’s direction that Mori moved to take over as the head of the Port Mafia, assassinating the current boss and planting a young Dazai Osamu as a witness to claim that succeeding the former leader had been in his will. While certainly a brutal move, it was necessary to establish Mori as head of the Mafia (as opposed to the previous boss who had been erratic and violent) while Fukuzawa was the head of the newly-created Armed Detective Agency. Through then working with the government the three groups established something of a truce between them to ensure the stability of Yokohama and a balance of power between the criminal underworld and the law. Despite Mori and Fukuzawa working on wildly opposing sides of the morality and occasionally clashing, they ultimately held up a mutually beneficial (albeit regularly strained) facsimile of peace up until the start of the series. At this point a bounty was placed on the ability-user Atsushi Nakajima by an American group of ability-users called The Guild, and the Port Mafia set out to obtain him in order to get the money. Atsushi had recently joined the Armed Detective Agency though, so conflict over the young man reignited tensions between the two groups that only flared more when the Guild came to the city in order to fulfill the job that they considered the mafia to be failing at. Eventually the Port Mafia and the Agency realized that they were each more threatened by the Guild than one another (temporarily at least) and once more established a shaky cease-fire in order to join forces and eliminate the threat of the encroaching organization. Personality: Because of his position as the head of the Port Mafia Mori prefers to keep separate personas, one reserved for those outside his organization and another reserved for those within. To people unfamiliar with his identity he puts on the act of being a mild-mannered and slightly bumbling doctor, appearing friendly and unassuming. To some extent this act is based in truth, as he generally is quite polite and respectful(+) even in the face of rivals and outright enemies... Of course this doesn’t mean he’s above subtle threats, and those who are astute at reading people can usually tell that this facade is hiding an extreme bloodlust and murderous intent capable of freezing many in terror. No matter how he prefers to present himself Mori is first and foremost a man of logic(+), a skilled strategist who specializes in learning every possible weakness of others so that it can be exploited later. He prides himself on keeping calm and collected(+) no matter the situation, taking time to assess all details carefully before acting in order to ensure the most beneficial result for himself. He is extremely perceptive and skilled at reading/predicting human behavior, making him a skilled manipulator(-) who is extremely capable of playing people off of one another by exploiting even the most inconsequential fact. Of course his calculating logic makes him extremely dangerous when in combination with his ambition and position, as Mori is ruthless(-) and cares very little for human life(-), at least when he considers it to be of less value than whatever he is trying to obtain. He is very much a believer in focusing on the big picture, so small losses in the moment that benefit a broader goal are more than worth it. He will not hesitate to sacrifice underlings of any level should he consider the loss of them beneficial to his overarching plans, even willing to give out information on his own organization in order to manipulate his enemies into doing certain things. When given the chance to let loose and fight directly he is shown to be extremely sadistic(-) and takes great joy in carving down people with scalpels, an ironic weapon that many point out given his typical facade. His savageness earns him both respect and fear from his subordinates, instilling loyalty if for no other reason than no one wants to risk winding up being considered "disposable". For as cold as he can be, there are occasional moments where Mori does exhibit a slightly more human side. He displays genuine respect for his mentor Natsume Souseki and "colleague" Fukuzawa (even if he initiates more than the occasional assassination attempt), and for all his harsh methods he does not generally lash out over something as silly as personal vendettas. After all he is a logical man, so while he often is difficult to read and out-maneuver he is not rash. He claims to love Yokohama "even with it’s dark side", and in a twisted way he genuinely does what he does to try and maintain peace and balance in a way that is best for all… Even though he certainly intends to come out on top in the end. Powers and Abilities: Mori’s primary ability is called Vita Sexualis, which allows him to summon a young girl named Elise and "configure" her for battle. While typically she appears as a normal young girl masquerading as his daughter it is revealed that she is almost fully a creation of his ability, although he cannot control all aspects of her personality. He can make her wield any sort of weaponry he can imagine in battle, although his favorite is comically-enlarged medical equipment that she will smash or stab enemies with. Elise is inhumanly fast and strong but not invulnerable to damage and Mori can control her to make her instantly protect him, and it seems that after being destroyed she can be summoned again at a later point in time. Per a conversation with mods, in Duplicity Mori will not be able to summon Elise. Fortunately aside from using Vita Sexualis Mori is a skilled fighter in his own right, with scalpels being his weapon of choice. He is shown to have very quick reflexes and can even keep up with Yukichi Fukuzawa, who is an acclaimed swordsman and former assassin. Of course his skills at predicting people combined with the more than occasional use of underhanded tactics help him gain an advantage as well.
